New Release Reds Dozen

2023 Soldiers Land Shiraz: Is this your big rich, over-ripe, in-your-face Shiraz? The answer is No! Colour is red brick and dense. The nose is full of classic Shiraz 'white pepper’ with plums and chocolate. The palate is lively, fresh and generous. It is a perfect all year round Shiraz (winter and summer). The grapes come from the Jury Road vineyards, which has been farmed for more than a 101 years.

2023 Montepulciano:The colour of this wine is through the roof, which is not unexpected considering it is Monte! The nose is super interesting and complex. There are tones of soy sauce, glazed cherries, menthol and a plethora of herbs and spices. The palate is rich. Nice short tannins with good structure and length. We love this wine!

2023 Soldiers Land Grenache:Colour looks spot on for Grenache, light cherry red. The nose is violets, nutmeg and plums. The palate has good weight and amazing length. With an alcohol of 14.5% this wines shows no sign of heat, but is most definitely full of character. The 92 year-old vines continue to produce low yields with intense flavours…resulting in classic and vibrant wines.

2023 Aglianico:The Ricca Terra Aglianico has been a wine of mystery. Our levels of production are low, making this wine rare. In the glass this wine has the colour of rich strawberry jam. The aromas are tobacco, cherries and Old Gold chocolate. The plate has delicate tannins, good length, but is not big and bold, more delicate. Think Pinot Noir!
