Wine grape growers plant super high-density olive trees to meet demand amid global oil shortage

These innovative trees can produce fruit in just two years, about half the time of traditional olive trees, and seamlessly integrate with our existing vineyard infrastructure.

With global demand for olive oil on the rise and a shortage due to extreme weather and disease, we see this as a unique opportunity. We’ve secured a contract with a producer wholesaler and are encouraging our growers, many with Greek and Italian heritage, to embrace this exciting new chapter. As we continue to push boundaries in viticulture, we’re thrilled to add olive oil to our diverse offerings at Ricca Terra.
